The sound of the TV blared throughout the almost empty house. The only person home was sixteen year-old Rilee Anderson. Rilee generally lived with her twenty year old brother, Ace, but he was hardly ever home and they fought constantly. The Anderson siblings used to get along, but after their parents died in a car crash he previous year, Ace became cold and bitter, causing them to grow apart.
It was three in the morning and Ace had yet to arrive home. Knowing him he was probably dancing with some bleach-blond tramp. Rilee had been on the couch watching TV when the doorbell ring. Thinking it was her brother who had forgotten his keys, she opened the door without checking to see who it was. Big mistake. Instead of her brother, stood a man about the age of nineteen. He had sandy brown hair and deep hazel eyes that were glazed with darkness. Rilee was slightly surprised, to see her brother's friend at the door, but none the less, she asked him what he was doing there. But before she could finish her sentence, she found his strong hands wrapped around her head, keeping her from talking... or screaming.
When he picked her up and threw her on the couch, she tried to kick him off, but he was to strong for her. He dragged her over to the couch and threw her down. Her eyes widened in fear when she felt his free hand beginning to move up and down her body, then slowly began to unzip her pants.
A month later, the inevitable happened. Rilee discovered she was pregnant. But that wasn't the worst part. When her brother found out... things got even worse. She tried to tell him it was his friend that did this to her, but he refused to listen. Ace wouldn't talk to her and kept her locked in the basement, and when it was time for her to give birth, he had yet to change his mind. Rilee was forced to have her baby in the basement, with no bed, no bath tub, and no one to help her. After six long hours of labor, Lily Marie Anderson was born.
Finally, one day, Ace changed his mind and let them out of the basement. He wanted to see his niece, but Rilee refused to let him see her. Since he was older, he eventually got his way. When it was time for Rilee to go back to school, she had no choice but to leave her child in her brother's hands. She couldn't very well bring Lily to school with her. When Rilee walked in the doors of her school, she seemed as if she was a different person. Her once sparkling eyes were now tired and weary. Her once tan skin became pale as a ghost. She didn't look to be herself at all, but the only person who noticed was Dominic Hunterson.
Dominic and Rilee had been friends for a while now. About two years, but she had never let him come over. Although he was curious, he never argued with her. Rilee had always told him that she lived with her loving brother, not that she lived with a brutal tyrant.
When Dominic finally asked her what was wrong, she just solemnly shook her head and held her arms close to her. At that moment, he knew something was terribly wrong. One day, he decided to ask if he could walk Rilee home. Reluctantly, she agreed, she was in no mood, to be alone. Dominic stood at the gate of her yard and watched as she went in. The first thing he heard was yelling, then a crashing noise. Horrified, he froze, not wanting to be seen or heard. A minute later, Rilee stormed out the door, tears running down her pale cheeks and two moth old Lily in her arms. She only noticed Dominic when she realized she was standing right in front of him. He had a look of pure shock on his face. Her eyes went wide and she pushed the gate opened, then stormed off in the direction of the park.
How will Dominic react? What about Rilee's friends at school? Will Rilee ever get somewhere safe where she can raise Lily? It's time to leave the rest of the story in your hands at...
